Yvone + James | JW Marriott Phu Quoc wedding
Phu Quoc is fast replacing Hoi An as the trendiest wedding destination in Vietnam, and the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa is one of the big reasons why. The Marriott is a rare venue that is really large but also full of colourful character and originality – perfect for a Phu Quoc wedding.
Created by renowned resort designer Bill Bensley, the JW Marriott is a fantasyland of a colonial-era university (that didn’t actually exist), and the abundant design flourishes and attention to detail to bring this story to life are quite staggering.
Although we had to battle against an incoming typhoon, Yvone, James and I we were still able to take advantage of this colourful fantasy backdrop, as well as heading into nearby An Thoi town to make some pictures in the real Vietnam.
The JW Marriott Phu Quoc is a magical place for pre-wedding, engagement photos, or an elopement like this. I really look forward to returning (when the weather cooperates a bit more). If you are considering Phu Quoc as a destination wedding location, check out Di and Phil’s wedding at Salinda Resort, and Jacqui and Ryan’s wedding – both planned by Vietnam’s best wedding planner – Hoi An Events.
