Jessica and Tom contacted me a looooooong time ago when I was taking a break in Canada awaiting the birth of my daughter. It was winter, a Canadian winter (ie: the real deal), and when they said they were planning their wedding at the 5-star Pimalai Resort in Koh Lanta, Thailand, it didn’t take me long to say yep, I’ll be there.

Over a year later, and there I was, making pictures during their Thai water ceremony on the beach, the sun setting behind us, their family beating the heat with hand held fans and gin and tonics, and ending the evening with a rousing rendition of YMCA. Which, I know, I know, its not exactly a cool song, but it really should be played at more weddings. Because weddings are about having fun and celebrating with family. And let me tell you, kicking out the chorus of YMCA with your family on a Thai beach is pretty fun. Thanks Jess and Tom for having me.

As always, a big shout out to Tikka and Na at A Creative Wedding Films. My two favorite videographers to shoot a wedding with.
